Health and Safety Training Courses

Level 2 Food Safety in Catering

Duration: 1 day / 6 hours

Target Audience:
Anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled

Course Details:
Delegates will be taught a firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved. They will leave with an understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling) and have the confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers.

 

Level 1 Health and Safety in the Workplace

Duration: Half day / 3 hours

Target Audience:
New employees entering employment for the first time as a part of work experience or the start of their employment.
This course can also be delivered as part of your induction programme.

Course Details:
This course is an entry level health and safety course which nationally recognised. It provides awareness of the essential health and safety issues for all employees.

 

Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace

Duration: 1 days / 6 hours

Target Audience:
Anyone in a work environment.

Course Details:
This course is designed to ensure that all employees are aware of their own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the public. This qualification can be tailored to business and individual needs to make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose..

Level 3 Health and Safety in the Workplace

Duration: 3 days / 18 hours

Target Audience:
Anyone working in a supervisory position.

Course Details:
This qualification provides a thorough understanding of health and safety emphasising the importance of monitoring staff and controls. It also details the need for a structured management approach to health and safety and the key factors in implementing health and safety policy.

 

Manual Handling Awareness

Duration: Half day / 3 hours

Target Audience:
All employees who have to carry out any manual handling activities at work, including both industrial and office workers.

Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, employers are required to take appropriate steps to reduce the risk of injury to employees – this includes suitable training.

Course Details:
This qualification, aimed at those who carry out manual handling at work, provides essential information about manual handling hazards and their control.

 

Principles of Risk Assessment

Duration: 1 day / 6 hours

Target Audience:
Anyone in a work environment as it raises learners’ awareness of the concept of risk assessment.

Course Details:
This qualification is designed to help improve the workplace culture for occupational health and safety by enabling learners to understand the basic principles of risk assessment.

There is no final examination with this course the trainer will continually asses each candidate throughout the course. Each successful candidate will receive a certificate which is valid for 12 months.

Level 1 Fire Safety Awareness

Duration: Half day / 3 hours

Target Audience:
Anyone in a work environment.

Course Details:
The Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness is designed to help an organisation to meet its duties under current fire safety legislation by providing employees with essential knowledge about fire safety, helping them to understand how to prevent a fire from starting as well as what actions to take if a fire does break out.

 

Level 2 Award in Fire Safety Principles

Duration: 1 day / 6 hours

Target Audience:
This course is designed for employees who hope to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking more specific fire safety roles in the workplace to manage fire risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.)

Course Details:
The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety Principles allows candidates to develop their basic fire safety awareness. It is particularly useful for employees who are to have a designated responsibility for workplace fire safety, for example as fire wardens or fire marshals, and provides the knowledge that will allow them to carry out duties relating to fire safety and emergency procedures.
